Thanks for the article!!! I was happy to get some things off my chest! My feelings towards Michael Nesmith have been bittersweet for many years. I have always felt that our Papa Nez, was just a little bit ashamed of his Monkee years. Some of the articles I have read over many of the last 43 years, has him saying mean and hurtful things about being a "Monkee". I hope I am wrong, because I personally feel that if not for the Monkee years, Mike Nesmith would not of had the opportunities he had. I personally think that we fans, (from the 60s and the 80s) have made him a popular icon. I mean, Yes Nesmith was a songwriter a few years before the Monkees, but let me ask question: How many people today would know songs like "The Kind of Girl I Could Love, Mary Mary, Joanne, Silver Moon, The Girl I knew Somewhere, You Just May Be The One, without millions of adoring fans running out and buying the records, tuning into the show (when it was on) or eating all that Kelloggs Cereal & drinking all the Kool Aid, and all the other "giants" that cashed in on the Monkee machine? Personally Mr. Nesmith, give us a tiny bit of credit. You wouldn't of gotten as far as you have if you had of skipped those Monkee years. Like I sais before, I am a fan, I have been since 66 and probably always will be. Come on Papa Nez, give us some credit!!!!!
